Stoney Trail Bridge, Calgary, Alberta

Joseph Hanna spearheaded the Stoney Trail Bridge project, entailing the design and construction of a 476-meter-long, twenty-meter-wide bridge over the Bow River as part of Calgary’s Stoney Trail N.W. dual carriage-way bypass. Utilizing the incrementally launched method for pre-cast concrete bridges, the double-cell box structure was cast in two stages. The project also featured a 130-meter-long, three-meter-wide pedestrian suspension bridge underhung from the substructure at piers 2 and 3. Hanna’s leadership ensured the successful completion of this complex infrastructure project.
